Meet Dr. Ivan Sanchez
For Dr. Ivan Sanchez, becoming a chiropractor wasn’t a straight-line career decision. It grew out of his own experience with pain, years spent in military medicine, and a desire to give people the kind of straightforward answers he’d want for himself.
Today, he brings that perspective to every patient he sees at Millennium Chiropractic. Whether you’ve been dealing with pain for years, you’re trying to stay active, or you’re simply frustrated because you don’t understand why something keeps bothering you, Dr. Sanchez starts by listening.
An Injury That Changed His Direction
Dr. Sanchez grew up in San Jose, California, and first came to Washington through the Army in 2008. While working in military medicine, he injured his back badly enough that he could barely walk. Eventually, he visited a chiropractor for the first time.
That experience stayed with him. When he left active duty, he decided to pursue chiropractic as a career and enrolled at Palmer West, graduating in 2017.
His military service wasn’t finished. Dr. Sanchez deployed overseas with the Army after graduation and returned to Washington in 2019. He continues to serve in the Army National Guard today.
Having spent years in that environment, he understands what it means to push through discomfort because there’s a job to do. It’s one reason he connects naturally with veterans who may come in with several old injuries or areas that have bothered them for years.

More Than One Way to Help a Patient
One thing becomes clear pretty quickly when talking with Dr. Sanchez: he likes having options.
Some patients respond well to manual adjustments. Others may be better suited to a lighter, instrument-assisted approach. That’s why he works with techniques and tools including Activator Methods®, Impulse, and Arthrostim rather than relying on one method for everyone.
He also sees a significant number of patients with scoliosis and has equipment available specifically for scoliosis-focused care.
His interests extend beyond adjusting, too. During chiropractic school, Dr. Sanchez studied functional neurology, Eastern medicine, and hypnosis for pain management. When appropriate, herbs and nutritional guidance may also become part of the conversation.
Straight Answers Matter
Dr. Sanchez knows that walking into a healthcare office can be stressful, particularly when you’re in pain and aren’t sure what’s causing it. He doesn’t want patients leaving with more questions than they had when they arrived.
His approach is to explain what he finds in understandable terms and be upfront about the options. Sometimes chiropractic care may be appropriate. Sometimes improvement takes time. And occasionally, another healthcare provider or referral is the better next move.
For Dr. Sanchez, being honest about those possibilities is an important part of earning a patient’s trust.
He is also a member of the Washington State Chiropractic Association.
Life Outside the Office
Away from the practice, Dr. Sanchez is still someone who likes to stay moving. He’s into fitness, cold plunging, and spending time outdoors. He’s active with a local men’s faith group and enjoys spending time with his sons.
Those interests, along with his military background and his own experience with a serious back injury, give patients plenty to talk about with him beyond what’s written on an intake form.
